  • 350 grams Short Crust Pastry
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 225 grams Rump Steak
  • 350 grams Potatoes
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • pinch Nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon Mixed Spice
  • pinch Pepper
  • Beaten Egg

  1. Chop onions finely and cut raw meat and potatoes into 1 cm cubes.
  2. Mix with spices and pepper and salt.
  3. Divide pastry into 4 portions, and roll each piece to an 20 cm round.
  4. Brush edges with water and put a quarter of filling on each round.
  5. Draw edges of pastry together, on each side of filling, and press together.
  6. Make 3 pleats in the top edge, for decoration.
  7. Place on baking trays.
  8. Brush pastry with beaten egg and make a cut on ether side of each pasties.
  9. Bake at 220°C for 40-45 minutes.
